Be Bold! Business Development Ideas for Las Vegas Trade Shows, Conferences and Expos

As November winds to its close, there’s a lot of business being done in Las Vegas, even during the Thanksgiving season. Vegas is truly a 24-hour city for pleasure and for business. Over the next few weeks, a host of large conventions are coming to Vegas at some of the best convention facilities in the city, including the Venetian, the Westgate, the Flamingo, the Mirage, the Downtown Grand, and others.

Even with the advent of digital marketing and online meetings, one-on-one networking is still the most effective way to meet new prospects and close deals.

A recent HubSpot survey found that:

– Fact 1 – Nearly 100 percent of business professionals say face-to-face meetings are essential for cultivating long-term business relationships.

– Fact 2 – Surprising, 68 percent of young, entry-level professionals value face-to-face networking more than online.

– Fact 3 – On average, for every dollar companies invest in traveling to a convention, they receive $12.50 in value.

– Fact 4 – The close rate for in-person meetings is a whopping 40 percent! Compare that to a close rate of 5 to 20 percent for online contacts.

– Fact 5 – The average company would lose 17 percent of its profits if it eliminated business conventions and travel.

Do A Little Research Before Your Next Big Trade Show in Las Vegas

If you’re a business in Las Vegas, or anywhere for that matter, keeping tabs on which industry conventions are in town is a great way to expand your business. If you see an individual who’s is part of an upcoming conference – maybe a speaker or someone representing a company that you’d like to get to know, be bold!

Reach out on LinkedIn or by email or phone, and set up a meeting. Or, buy yourself a ticket to attend one day and browse the exhibit hall. Make sure to take your business cards!

On the flip side, professionals planning a business trip to Vegas are smart to do a bit of research beforehand and arrange meetings with companies and sales prospects while they are here in Vegas. Maybe you can discuss a possible alliance or co-marketing arrangement between your respective companies.

As we close out November, here are some of the high profile B2C and B2B groups that are coming to Las Vegas. Which one is a business development match for you?
